Bruce Grant Sr

Bruce L. Grant Sr., 68, of Eldora, Iowa, died Sunday, February 24, 2008, at his residence in Eldora. His body was cremated. There will be no services at this time. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is serving the family of Bruce L. Grant Sr.

Bruce L. Grant Sr. was born December 14, 1939, in Boone, Iowa, the son of Doyle Lawrence and Cecelia Mary (Henniman) Grant. Bruce was raised in Shenandoah, Iowa, and remained there until he began his military service. On November 14, 1957, Bruce enlisted in the United States Army and served his country until he was honorably discharged on December 24, 1959. When Bruce finished his service duty, he moved to Norwalk, Iowa, and worked in the farming industry.

Bruce then moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he was self-employed, working with office machines. Bruce also owned an airplane transport business in the Detroit area for several years in conjunction with his other business. Bruce then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he managed apartment complexes until January 2007.

Bruce?s health began to fail and in May 2007, he moved to Eldora, Iowa, to be closer to his family.

He is survived by two sons, Darryl Gast and his wife Rosetta of New Providence, Iowa; Bruce Grant Jr. of Indiana; seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
