Beulah Graves, 93, of Cedar Falls, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Bickford Cottage in Cedar Falls, Iowa while under the care of Hospice. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church, Grundy Center, Iowa with Pastor Dale Janssen officiating. Private family interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, from 4 to 7 P.M. at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Dike. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus or to the family.
Beulah was born on June 14, 1916 on the family farm in Colfax Township, Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Gladys (Fletcher) Stahl. She completed twelve years of education at Holland and Grundy Center schools and graduated in 1935. She was united in marriage to Marvin Graves on June 22, 1938 and lived most of their life in Dike.
Beulah was a faithful member of the Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church and Ladies Aid. She enjoyed music to the fullest, singing in the choir and being a church organist for more than 68 years. She and Marvin sang for 269 funerals and she played for 74 weddings and many funerals.
Survivors include two sons, Wendell and his wife Sidonie of Independence, Iowa, Don and his wife LaDonna of Dike, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, Wendell James II (Kathy) Graves, Sara (Paul) Raak, Bentley (Jodi) Graves, Collyn Graves, Lynette (Brian) Petersen, David (Kristal) Graves and Jason Graves; 9 great grandchildren, Brandon, Brady, Bryce and Katelyn Petersen, Nathan, Lukas and Zachary Graves, Oliver Raak and Emma Graves.
She was preceded in death by her parents; foster brother, Harry Taffinder and her husband, Marvin.
