Betty J. Baker Hansen, 86, of Reinbeck, formerly of Cedar Falls, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Parkview Manor in Reinbeck, IA while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. A celebration of Betty's life will be announced and held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family where they will make a donation to the charity of their choice.
Betty was born on September 12th, 1927 in Ionia, Iowa, the oldest daughter of Joseph and Mildred (Brown) Green. On March 27th, 1946 she was united in marriage to Curtis M. Baker. Curtis died on March 1, 1975 and then on April 9, 1977, she was united in marriage to Mervin (Moe) Hansen of Dike, Iowa. Moe passed away on October 18th, 2013.
Betty lived and worked in the Cedar Falls area until her and Moe moved to Rush Lake, Minnesota. Betty worked at Valley Park Lanes for many years. They used to say she moved so fast that her feet never hit the floor! She would "fly" instead of walk.
When they moved to Minnesota they spent many happy years fishing, playing cards, going to garage sales and they truly enjoyed life on the lake. Betty loved spending time with her family and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Curtis & her second husband Moe; her sister Beverly Boyd & her brother Bud Green; her two granddaughters Lisa & Danielle Dengler.
She is survived by her daughters Jo Baker-Caffero (JP) of Salmon, ID &Valari Szall (Frank) of Florissant, CO; 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 7 great- great grandchildren. She will be truly missed by her family and all who loved her.
