Berniece Frahm

November 10, 1920 — June 6, 2014

Berniece Thelma Frahm, age 93, of Reinbeck, IA, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 at her home in Reinbeck. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until time of memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck. Burial will be private.

Berniece was born on November 10, 1920 in Barron County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Selmar and Josie (Halverson) Thorsbakken. She was raised in Story City, Iowa, graduated from Story City High School and attended the Iowa State Teachers College now known as UNI. Berniece was united in marriage to Robert William Frahm on July 15, 1945 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Bob passed away on August 18, 2004.

Berniece was a school teacher for three years in Kelly, Iowa and then a country school outside of Nevada, Iowa. She and her husband operated the Frahm Farm Shop in Voorhies for many years along with helping on the farm.

She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck, the Crystal Township Friendship Club and many card groups. She loved to knit, crochet and she was known for her delicious homemade bread. She will be missed and long remembered by her friends and family.

Berniece is survived by her children Karen (Noland) Oaks of Albion, IA, Gary Frahm of Ft. Myers, FL, Jo (R. Karl) Watkins of Lake Park, IA and Chad (Cathy) Frahm of St. James City, FL; grandchildren Rod (Jodi) Oaks, Traci (Jason) Devereaux, Scott (Kristin) Frahm, Rob Frahm, Mikael (Steve) Pietila, Rachel (Rob) Sheehan, E. Merle Watkins and Courtney Frahm; great-grandchildren Jorie Oaks, Sydnie Oaks and Grant Frahm; step-great-grandchildren Tasha and Jenna Devereaux; a sister-in-law Mary Frahm of Ames, IA; brothers-in-law Ross (Pat) Frahm of Osceola, IA and Ellis (Betty) Amdall of Barron, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob; sisters June Amdall and Jeanette (Don) Ehrig; granddaughter Cristen Frahm and brother-in-law Warren Frahm.
