Barbara Jean Johnson

Barbara Jean Johnson, 90, of Grundy Center, died Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Creekside Cottages in Grundy Center.  She was born August 4, 1932, in rural DeKalb County, Missouri, the daughter of Earl E. Johnson and Ella Inez (Newby) Johnson. Barbara was united in marriage to Herold Foxworthy on December 3, 1949, in Winston, Missouri. The couple moved to the Cedar Falls/Dike area where they raised their family. The two later divorced.  Barbara was a housewife and Avon lady. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her special companion (her dog Abbie), camping and garage sales. 

Barbara is survived by her children Connie (Don) Dinsdale of Reinbeck, Bonnie Davis (Paul Stauffer) of Clarksville, and Larry (Tammy) Foxworthy of Dike; grandchildren Tracy Brooks, Rob (Pam) Walters, Shane (Darcy Eibs) Davis, Taryn (Evan) Stahl and Trista (Brian) Wolff; great-grandchildren Joel and Zack Davis, Taylor Pearson, Isabelle Brooks, Madelyn and Ella Walters, and Colton Wolff; a sister-in-law, Sue Johnson Boushelle; several nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bobbie and Garel Johnson; grandson Laine Davis. A private family service will be held.
