Arnold D. Shaver, 68, of Union, Iowa died at his home on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora with Pastor Arlen Daleske officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery near Union. Arnold was born March 24, 1942, in Union, Iowa, son of Denzil and Murine (Glenney) Shaver. He was very active in 4-H while growing up, showing his livestock and receiving many awards. He graduated from Tama High School in 1960 then attended Waterloo Business College graduating with a business administration degree. He earned a position of office manager in Dike, Iowa and then later at Farm Service. He owned and operated his own trucking company.
He is survived by his sons, Curt Shaver of Stuart, Iowa and Doug Shaver of Whitten, Iowa; by sister, Karen Bachman of Union; and by 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Grego; and an infant son, Brian.
