Annette L. Flater, 94, of Holland, Iowa, died from natural causes on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care in Grundy Center, while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. Memorials may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church Music Fund or Cedar Valley Hospice in Grundy Center in Annette's name. Annette was born March 28, 1914, in Colfax Township rural Grundy County, the daughter of Philip and Reka (Kiewiet) Tack. She was educated in rural country schools. On February 14, 1939, Annette was united in marriage to Klaus Kruger at Annette's parents home in rural Grundy County. Klaus died March 31, 1958. Annette married Conrad Flater on November 12, 1966 at Colfax Presbyterian church rural Holland, Iowa. Annette lived most of her life in Grundy County. She worked in the home her most of her life. She loved crocheting and different types of hand work but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Annette was a member Colfax Presbyterian Church and later a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. Annette was a Sunday school teacher for over 25 years, a member United Presbyterian Women and the Martha Circle. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Carol Kruger of Hubbard, Iowa; son-in-law, David Dix of Mount Vernon, Iowa; grandchildren; Karla Kruger of West Des Moines, IA; Marc (Lynn) Kruger of Omaha, NE; Sarah (Jeff)Marshall of Ankeny, IA; Amy (Jeff) Wenz of Ottawa, IL; Mary(Joel) Foreman of Mt. Vernon, IA; great-grandchildren; Casey and Morgan Kruger, Ryan and Jared Marshall, Ethan and Keaton Wenz and Cael Foreman; sister, Ella Bakker of Cedar Falls; step-daughter; Doris Flater of Grundy Center, 4 step grandchildren , 7 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; children Arlen Kruger and Karen Kruger Dix and brother; Marvin Tack and sister, Lorraine Heiken
