Anita Junker

October 4, 1912 — March 20, 2008

Anita Junker of Cresco, IA, died March 20 of congestive heart failure at the age of 95. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26 at St. Johns Lutheran church, Wellsburg, IA, with Pastor Bruce Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Wellsburg. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 25, between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00 at the Doyen - Abels Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church or the donor?s choice. Anita was born October 4, 1912, to Rev. Frederick and Emma (Wassman) Rudi in Jackson, MO. The family moved to Glidden, IA, in 1915. Anita graduated from Glidden High School and attended business school in Sioux City, IA. She married Gordon Junker on April 15, 1934, and they lived most of their married life in Wellsburg, IA. Over a period of 30 years, Anita taught piano to 263 students. She was a charter member of the Wellsburg chapter of the Federated Women's Club and was active in the church, serving as choir director for many years. In l999 Anita moved to Cresco, IA, to be near family She is survived by her daughters Donna (Dennis) Brosdahl of Cresco, IA, Marilyn Pyle of Glendora, CA, Karen (John) McCoy of Vienna, VA, and her son, Joel Junker of Seattle, WA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a sister, and a brother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, her daughter in law, Laura Junker, and her son in law, Eric Pyle.
