Albert J. Lotts, 71, of Dike, Iowa passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his home in Dike while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. In keeping with Albert's loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to donate his body to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics for scientific research. Albert's family will receive friends for a celebration of his life at the Dike United Methodist Church from 4pm to 7pm on Saturday, July 13, 2013 with military honors at 6pm. Albert was born September 6, 1941 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, son of Donal and Helen (Ward) Lotts. He graduated from the Dike High School then attended mechanics school in Kansas City. On December 7, 1963 he was united in marriage to Joan Kay Cox in Cedar Falls. He served in the Army Reserves for several years and worked as a farmer, truck driver and mechanic.

He was a member of the Dike United Methodist Church, and he enjoyed horses and camping, belonging to several saddle clubs.

Surviving is his wife, Joan; children, Kamela Lynch of Prescott, Wisconsin, Jeremy (Christa) Lotts of Cedar Falls and Daniel Lotts of Dike; grandchildren, Jered, Devon, Karli and Jalen Lotts, and Jamaica and Samantha Lynch; and great-grandchildren, Alayna and Ethan Freiermuth, and Cassidy Lynch. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly Holmes.
