Albert “Bud” Lorenz, 91, of Reinbeck, passed away at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center on March 30, 2018. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 4-7PM at French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. A private burial will be held at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the family. French-Hand Funeral Home is taking care of Albert and his family. Albert Rae Lorenz was born on March 10, 1927 in rural Lincoln, IA, to his parents Albert Sr. & Freida (Linder) Lorenz. Bud attended school through the eighth grade, leaving school to help on the farm. Albert was united in marriage to Vivian Hulme Claussen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua in 1952. Albert and Vivian went on to have three children Janice, Gary, and Terry. Albert and Vivian later divorced in 1969. Bud worked at Pioneer in Reinbeck for over 35 years working in many different capacities. Bud was known for being a kind, honest, family man. Bud enjoyed spending time on his acreage and with his grandchildren. Bud also enjoyed collecting Allis Chalmers tractors, going on tractor parades, and collecting model tractors.
Albert is survived by his son Gary (Jodi Rowe) Lorenz of Reinbeck; grandchildren Shane (Donna Bishop) VanHauen, Chris (Jaime) VanHauen, Kimberly VanHauen, Kelsey Lorenz, Logan Lorenz, Lucas Lorenz, Crystal Lorenz, and Ashley Lorenz; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Janice, son Terry, sisters Evelyn, Lucille, Alberta, Virginia, and Margaret, brothers Delbert, Robert, and Eldon.
