Adeline Ernestine Dettbarn, 96, of Eldora, Iowa died Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the Eldora Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora, with Pastor David Splett officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Eldora. Visitation will be held on Tuesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Adeline Ernestine Dettbarn, daughter of August and Clara Tietz Marske was born on June 11, 1918 in Eldora, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora, Iowa. Adeline attended school in rural Hardin County and graduated from Eldora High School in 1937. On November 23, 1943 she was united in marriage to Harold Dettbarn. She and her husband owned and operated South Side Super Service in Eldora for over 40 years.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Elsie Marske of Freeport, IL; nephews, Larry (Darlene) Marske of Grundy Center; Gary (Joni) Marske of West Des Moines; Dave (Gloria) Marske of Appleton, WI; Doug (Mary) Marske of Spencer, IA; Dan (Kiki) Marske of Rockford, IL; nieces, Maralyn (Dick) Walker of Albany, NY; Janice (William) Witt of Ennis, MT; Debbie (Steve) Fry of Spokane, WA; grand nephews, grand nieces and many friends.
Adeline was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 1985; her parents; brothers, Harold, Marvin and William Marske.
