Adele Pearl Pruin, 92, passed away at Creekside Assisted Living in Grundy Center, IA, on Thursday, July 22, 2021, due to a recent hip surgery and congestive heart failure. She lived at Arlington Place, in Grundy Center. Visitation is at Abels Funeral and Cremation Service, Engelkes Chapel in Grundy Center, Monday, July 26, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral service is Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 10:30 a.m., at United Reformed Church, in Wellsburg, IA, followed by luncheon and burial service at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Gifts may be made to the family for memorials to be determined at a later date.
She was born March 23, 1929, west of Wellsburg, to Joe and Pearl (Ruter) Eilers. When Adele was seven, the family moved to a farm in Lincoln Township. She graduated from Dike High School in 1948. On April 4, 1951, Adele was united in marriage to Bert Pruin at Lincoln Center Church. They were blessed with four children.
Adele was a member of the United Reformed Church in Wellsburg and active in Willing Workers. She worked at various jobs and later volunteered for eight years at the Long Term Care Center in Grundy Center.
Adele is survived by her children, David (Victoria) of Dike, Daryl of Stout, Donna Paszkiewicz of Kimmswick, MO, and Deann Kane of Grundy Center; nine grandchildren, Heather Schachterle (Travis), Independence, Melissa Borwig (Dan), Dike, Katie Hesson (Rick), Grand Forks, ND, Ryan Paszkiewicz (Sarah) , Grace Paszkiewicz (Dustin), Amy Paszkiewicz (David), and Emily Paszkiewicz (Travis), all who live in the St. Louis, MO area, Mason Kane (Sarah) and Joshua Kane, Grundy Center; and 13 great grandchildren, Megan, Logan, Cassidy, Abigail, Skyler, Xavier, Dominic, Freya, Callahan, Audrey, Kennedy, Carson and David. She is also survived by her brother Wayne (Judy) Eilers, sister Joyce VanDeest and many nieces and nephews she cherished. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bert, son-in-law, Gary Paszkiewicz, sisters Gladys Bowers, June Rhoads and Genevieve Venenga. brothers Marlyn and Kenneth Eilers, nephews Kent and Keith Alberts and niece Kay Nielsen.
