Ada E. Mooty, 81, of Grundy Center, Iowa, died of natural causes, Thursday, March 12, 2009, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Grundy Center, Iowa.
Ada was born April 8, 1927, the daughter of Theodore and Frances (Bausch) Klein. She attended Melrose township school near Grundy Center. On July 13, 1947 she was united in marriage to Roger Mooty at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, near Nashua, Iowa. Roger and Ada ran Mooty Mobil. After Roger?s death she helped raise several children with daycare the most recent were the Lyman children and Jessica Ayers. Ada served as deacon of First Presbyterian church, on the Pastor Committee. She was the First Lady of the Fire Department for 25 years, on the Ladies Association of Church, Funeral Flower Committee for several years, Rebekas, Girl Scouts of America and Brownie Troop leader for many years throughout the 60?s. She was on the Grundy Center Welcome Committee in the 70?s and a daycare provider in the 80?s ? 2008.
She is survived by her daughters: Barbara L. Mooty of Raleigh, North Carolina and Debra R. and her husband Louie Miller of Des Moines, Iowa; a granddaughter: Sydney Elizabeth Miller; and two sisters: Johanna Katzer of Conrad, Iowa, and a sister ? in ? law: Joanne Klein of Grundy Center, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Roger; sister: Anna Louise Klein; and a brother: George Klein.
