Donald D. Paul, 64, of Eldora, died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at his home. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Eldora United Methodist Church with Rev. Vicki Reece officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastlawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora, Iowa.
Donald David Paul was born on March 20, 1950 in Eldora, Iowa to Marvin and Evelyn (Cretin) Paul. He graduated from Waterloo West High School in1968. On April 4, 1970 he married Carmell Jostad in Holmen, WI. The couple resided in rural Shell Rock. They later divorced. In 1972, he began working for John Deere in Waterloo, where he worked in the foundry, engine works and tractor works departments. On July 18, 1992 he married Vickie Blandau in Eldora. Due to his failing health, he retired from John Deere in 2002. Don's hobbies included collecting toy tractors, camping, attending auctions, going out for coffee, driving on road trips around the area, and was member of the U.A.W. #838.
In addition to his wife Vickie, he is survived by his son, David (Jessica) Paul of Waterloo; daughter, Rachel (Scott) Inks of Eldora; son, Cory (Candice) Jennings of Mason City; daughter, Racheal (Ben) Jennings of Garner; brother, Darrell (Barb) Paul of Davenport; grandchildren, Emma and Isaac Inks, Carson and Ella Paul, Cameron, Christopher and Conrad Jennings, and Evan Heinder.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Paul
